Star Wars: The Acolyte plans for season two have been revealed, and it sounds like the perfect follow up.
To say that the Star Wars franchise is adored by millions of fans across the world would be an understatement. Ever since Star Wars first arrived in 1977, fans have been mesmerised by the tales taking place in a galaxy far, far away.
Each movie told the classic tale of good versus evil, or the case of the original Star Wars movies, the Rebel Alliance versus the Galactic Empire, with the likes of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia attempting to topple Darth Vader and Darth Sidious from their reign of terror.
That being said, as much as we love the Star Wars franchise, it’s not always been sunshine and roses, especially when it comes to the hot mess that is the sequel trilogy.

What’s more, Star Wars has not always had the best time as a TV series on the streaming platform, Disney Plus. One prime example of that is The Acolyte, which was cancelled after its first season.
To be fair, The Acolyte had a ton of potential being set during the High Republic era, but with a combination of silly writing and some unlikable leading characters, it was always going to face an uphill battle trying to appease the masses.
However, despite The Acolyte being cancelled after just one season, that’s not to say that it didn't garner a loyal fan base that would love nothing more than to see it revitalised for a second season.
As brought to our attention by Twitter user, The Sietch of Sci-Fi, in the book The Art of the Acolyte, potential plans for season two were teased, and it looked like events could have played out very interestingly.

The Acolyte meets up with Star Wars' Sequel Trilogy
In the book, it’s stated that Qimir (not Quagmire from Family Guy), aka The Stranger, would have become the founder of the Knights of Ren, who were elite, Force-sensitive warriors that were under the command of Kylo Ren in the aforementioned sequel trilogy.
“It was in the design of the character, as well as knowing that we were going to introduce Darth Plagueis, who has to end up with Palpatine as his apprentice,” a passage reads from series showrunner Leslye Headland.

“Following the Rule of Two - a precept that limited the Sith to just two at any given time, a master and an apprentice - one way to keep it going is if the Stranger is the first Knight of Ren, part of a Sith-adjacent cult that we know eventually survives.”
While I won't be losing any sleep over The Acolyte being cancelled, the prospect of Qimir playing a role in the sequel trilogy could have been interesting at least, but given the fact that The Acolyte was produced after that trilogy, it still would have had zero impact on it.
You can watch the entire Star Wars saga right now on Disney Plus.
