Keanu Reeves’ casting in Star Wars has got fans losing it, as we realise just how perfect for that world.

Keanu Reeves has been in some of the biggest film franchises of the past 30 years, including Toy Story, The Matrix, and John Wick.

He’s also slated to appear in a number of upcoming projects, and it sounds like he’s showing no signs of stopping.

It seems like the internet’s boyfriend has caught the attention of Lucasfilm in the last few years, as he was nearly cast as a major character for a Disney Plus Star Wars show.

Happy 61st birthday to Keanu Reeves!

Keanu Reeves nearly played Sol in THE ACOLYTE, but scheduling conflicts prevented him from taking the role.

As reported by Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider back in 2024, Reeves was allegedly selected to play Jedi Master Sol in Star Wars: The Acolyte but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts while he was filming scenes for Len Wiseman’s From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.

Following this, the role went to Squid Game’s Lee Jung-jae, who played the role in all eight episodes of the series.

In the end, Lee went on to do a great job as Sol, but it’s interesting to think about what could have been.

What’s funny about that is it would have meant he would have appeared in the show alongside his Matrix co-star Carrie Ann Moss, who played Trinity in all four films opposite Reeves.

“He would fit perfectly in the Star Wars universe,” wrote one fan on X (formerly Twitter).

“Revan and Revan only. I don't want it if he’s not Revan,” wrote another.

“Would love to see Keanu Reeves in Star Wars, but please not as Revan,” another fan disagreed. “I don't want to see Revan in any Star Wars project because if he doesn't make all the same choices I made when playing the game I will be disappointed.”

Still, it probably means Reeves is being eyed up for a future role in the franchise.
