Everyone’s friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man may normally be safe for children, but this new movie is going to be anything but.

Marvel fans already know that a new Spider-Man project is in the works for MCU, one that’s said to deliver “a journey unlike we’ve ever seen”.

Yet, we anticipate that this R-rated movie is going to be much more surprising.

Having been delayed three times already, the Spider-Man spin-off, Kraven the Hunter, is scheduled to air this December.

Nothing like a TV-MA show to warm your hearts this Christmas.

Check out the new trailer for Kraven the Hunter

This “visceral” tale will show Kraven’s origins, detailing what shaped him into the formidable villain people know and love from the comics.

When discussing the upcoming TV series with Deadline, director J.C. Chandor said, “I'm extremely proud of the work we have all done together on Kraven. When the movie finally gets its chance to be seen, I think it's gonna surprise the hell out of a lot of people.”

If it can top the shock fans felt after Marvel killed off a major Spider-Man character in such a dumb way, then we’re in for quite the experience on 13 December, assuming no more delays happen, that is.

Considering that Chandor says that the delays enabled him to “tighten up the plot” and “sharpen the characters”, it seems highly unlikely more tweaks will be needed.

Even more so now the new trailer and posters are being released; everything is building up to that mid-December debut.

Described as an “action-packed origin story”, Kraven the Hunter will show Kraven’s “complex relationship with his ruthless father”, played by Russell Crowe.

This strained and difficult relationship “starts him down a path of vengeance with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared.”

Now all that remains to be seen is whether Kraven can surprise us as much as its director has promised.
