MCU fans blown away as X-Men cast and lineup finally announced

The mutants have arrived

After years of teasers and the odd stray mutant here and there, Marvel has officially confirmed the long-awaited debut of the X-Men.

For the last few hours now, Marvel has slowly been confirming cast members for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

There are the kind of names you'd expect, of course. Thor is back. The new Captain America and Black Panther will be in the mix, too. But there have also been some huge surprises: namely, the X-Men are coming!

More specifically, it looks as if we're getting the classic X-Men lineup from the original Fox movies.

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are back as Professor X and Magneto alongside Kelsey Grammar's beast.

Also joining the party we have James Marsden (Cyclops), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Channing Tatum (Gambit), and Rebecca Romjin (Mystique).

While this is unlikely to be our line-up of X-Men once the MCU has its inevitable post-Secret Wars reboot, it's amazing to think this iconic cast of characters is coming together one more time - and to meet The Avengers, no less.

The Avengers: Doomsday cast so far includes:

  • Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards)
  • Channing Tatum (Gambit)
  • James Marsden (Cyclops)
  • Rebecca Romijn (Mystique)
  • Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler)
  • Patrick Stewart (Professor X)
  • Ian McKellen (Magneto)
  • Chris Hemsworth (Thor)
  • Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm)
  • Anthony Mackie (Captain America)
  • Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier)
  • Letitia Wright (Black Panther)
  • Paul Rudd (Ant Man)
  • Wyatt Russell (US Agent)
  • José Tenoch Huerta Mejía (Namor)
  • Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/Thing)
  • Simu Liu (Shang-Chi)
  • Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova)
  • Kelsey Grammer (Beast/Hank McCoy)
  • Lewis Pullman (Sentry/Robert Reynolds)
  • Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres/Falcon)
  • Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch)
  • David Harbour (Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian)
  • Winston Duke (M'Baku)
  • Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost)
  • Tom Hiddleston (Loki)
