An MCU star may have quietly confirmed that he’s reprising the role of a popular Marvel character in a second season of a Disney Plus series.

When it comes to epic moments on the silver screen, few (if any) have provided more than the MCU and its gang of heroic Avengers saving our universe (eventually) from Thanos during the Infinity Saga, which began in Phase One.

17 years have passed since Phase One of the MCU, and Phase Six is now in swing following the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps earlier this month.

Much has changed since the “Battle of New York” in The Avengers, released in 2012. In fact, a lot has changed since Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

I am about to go into spoilers for characters who are no longer in the original Avengers team, so be warned.

The new Avengers is yet to take shape, but what we know for sure is that Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff will not be returning. But fear not, the likes of Thor, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and friends are safe and well.

However, one character that hasn't been confirmed to return is Hawkeye, aka Clint Barton, played by Jeremy Renner.

The last time we saw Clint Barton was in the Disney Plus miniseries Hawkeye in 2021, which introduced the MCU’s version of Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld.

There has been no official indication from either Disney or Marvel that Hawkeye is returning, yet, as reported by The Direct, Jeremy Renner may have hinted at him reprising the role.

When talking to Empire Magazine, Jeremy Renner said that he’s confident that he’ll “end up doing season two” of Hawkeye.

“I’m always happy to be in that world, man. I love all those guys, I love the character. I’m sure we’ll end up doing season two, and do other things,” he said. “And I’m happy to do it.”

“My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights,” Clinton added.

If we hear anything more concrete regarding the potential of Hawkeye season two, we’ll be sure to update you ASAP.
