Following the news that Jimmy Kimmel Live would be taken off air indefinitely after its host spoke out about the recent shooting of Charlie Kirk, one Marvel star is less than pleased.

The recent death of right-wing activist and political pundit Charlie Kirk has caused a lot of political tension across the United States.

As a result, big names have been speaking out about the shooting of Kirk at Utah Valley University on 10 September, with some expressing sympathy whilst others are less than empathetic following Kirk’s controversial views.

However, for American talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, he fell into the latter category and in a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, spoke out against both Kirk and Donald Trump himself.

“The MAGA gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel began.

In response to Trump’s response to the shooting, he added: “This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he calls a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish.”

Following his comments, many members of the Trump administration and conservative viewers called for repercussions for Kirk’s comments, even going as far as threatening ABC’s broadcasting license.

So it is perhaps no surprise that hours later, ABC announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live would be taken off air indefinitely with Donald Trump calling it “great news for America”.

As you can imagine, this in itself has caused a lot of backlash with America’s connections to free speech being threatened.

As a result of this, celebrities have been speaking out and that includes Disney+ She Hulk star Tatiana Maslany.

In a recent Instagram post, Maslany urged Disney+ members to cancel their subscriptions due to ABC being a Disney-owned company.

In an image of the actress in her She-Hulk motion capture gear, she included the following caption: “cancel your @disneyplus @hulu @espn subscriptions!”

This is a brave move indeed with Maslany herself being the star of one hit Disney+ Marvel series but she joins just one of the American population who are worried about the removal of free speech.

It remains to be seen if ABC will retract the indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live but with the Trump Administration looming in the shadows, it seems as though it finds itself caught between a rock and a hard place.
