The MCU just threw some serious shade at DC's worst movie

The rivalry is still going strong

If there’s one thing Deadpool does best, it’s throw shade at others, including himself. In the latest film, Deadpool and Wolverine, many jabs are thrown but one in particular reaches over to DC.

We all know that DC is severely lacking when it comes to successful films and the recent Black Adam is one of the worst.

Deadpool and Wolverine brings the merc with the mouth to the MCU finally

So, it’s no surprise that Deadpool, and by extension Ryan Reynolds, takes aim at DC through one particular cameo, and some throwaway jokes.

Now if you haven’t seen the film yet, I’m about to spoil one of the better cameos, so get out of here.

Black Adam features a cameo of its own in Henry Cavill’s Superman which was swiftly walked back as DC shook up their film division, letting Cavill go from the role.

Cavill appears in Deadpool and Wolverine as a Wolverine variant, with the hair, beard, and cigar, looking quite the part.

The jab is clearly from Reynolds, saying that Marvel would treat the Superman actor much better than DC ever did. It’s no secret that the treatment of Cavill wasn’t great.

Deadpool throws other jokes the way of DC, particularly the recent Batman costumes that appear difficult to move in.

Perhaps the most subtle, but savage jibe was when Deadpool drags Wolverine into the TVA and says, referring that Wolverine will “change the hierarchy of power in the MCU.”

This a direct stab at Dwayne Johnson who joined the DCU for Black Adam and began throwing his weight around, making decisions on behalf of management. The film ultimately flopped at the box office.

Of course, DC has moved on from that era of filmmaking by bringing in James Gunn who has just wrapped on his Superman film.

Whether there will be a response from DC, it’s hard to say, but we’re sure Deadpool will keep slinging muck their way.
