MCU fans blown away by recast we all missed

After nearly 20 years, it's little surprise that the Marvel Cinematic Universe would not be entirely consistent as far as actors in certain roles are concerned.

We've seen some pretty big recasts over the years, of course. Mark Ruffalo replaced Edward Norton as Hulk in the early days of the MCU, just as Don Cheadle took over as Rhodey after Terrance Howard put in just one appearance as Iron Man's bestie.

But there have been plenty of cases of Marvel reusing the same actors in different roles over the years, though you may not have noticed.

Mariah Dillard, for instance, was in Luke Cage and Captain America: Civil War in very different roles. Similarly, Mahershala Ali was in Luke Cage and is also supposed to be playing Blade in the MCU going forward (though who knows what's going on there).

More recently, fans realised that Ruibo Qian - who is currently being brilliant in Daredevil: Born Again as detective Angie Kim - has actually appeared in the MCU before now.

While you almost certainly won't remember this, Qian appeared very briefly in the first episode of Netflix's Jessica Jones (which is MCU now so it definitely counts).

One fan commented: "Omg that’s why she looks familiar."

"I love when they do this," added another.

"The wildest one has to be one of the main villains on Luke Cage also being the woman who sent Tony over the edge on the Accords," commented another fan, in reference to Mariah Dillard.

With the multiverse being such a huge part of Marvel right now, I'm sure someone could explain why there are so many doppelgängers running around the MCU. Alternatively, we could just chalk it up to a fun coincidence and get on with our lives. I vote for the latter, yeah? Yeah.
