I hope you’re not still feeling the superhero fatigue; Marvel Studios has confirmed that Phase Nine is on the way.
It’s easy to lose track of where we are, so to bring you up to speed, we’re in the early stages of Phase Six.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps kicked the phase off, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars set to follow, alongside TV shows Eyes of Wakanda, Marvel Zombies, Wonder Man, Daredevil: Born Again season two, Vision Quest, and Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man season two.
There’s also one unannounced film on the phase’s release slate.

With that all said, it’s clear then that Phase Six will see us out of The Multiverse Saga.
As such, it’s perhaps not wrong to assume that phases seven through nine will relate to whichever saga is next.
Well, it’s come to light that Phase Nine is already in the planning stages of development.
As reported by The Direct, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently took part in a roundtable Q&A where he addressed the topic.

“A saga is three phases, so we’re working on the next three right now,” he began.
“But really, the first one of the next saga is directly impacted by what we’re doing right now with these movies and Secret Wars,” he continued.
Beyond this, it’s nigh impossible to say what Phase Nine will consist of; it’s perhaps not silly to assume that it’ll end in yet another massive Avengers team-up.
We don’t even know what’s in store for Phase Seven.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we got an X-Men film, considering the group’s introduction in Doomsday next year.
Black Panther 3, Thor 5, and a standalone Scarlet Witch film also don’t feel like unlikely candidates.
Personally, I’d love to see Captain Marvel make her return.
There’s also the Young Avengers to consider which Marvel has steadily been building, which includes the likes of Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop/Hawkeye, Katheryn Newton’s Cassie Lang, Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez, and Joe Locke’s Billy Maximoff/Wiccan.

The Eternals are perhaps the other mainline group of characters yet to make a return, but it does somewhat feel like Marvel is just going to brush them under the rug.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on all developments. It’s expected that the next round of major updates for the MCU will arrive during next summer’s D23 event.
