Ghost Rider is one of the most iconic characters in Marvel history but it has been some time since we last saw him appear on our screens.
Now with the Marvel Cinematic Universe getting something of an overhaul now that we have entered into its sixth phase, it would be the perfect time to reintroduce the fiery-headed hero.
In the past, Ghost Rider has been portrayed by Nicholas Cage in 2007’s Ghost Rider and its 2012 sequel, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance as well as by Gabriel Luna and Tom McComas taking on the roles of both Robbie Reyes and Johnny Blaze in the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
Now it seems as though a brand-new face will be stepping into those motorcycle leathers, at least according to Marvel insider Daniel RPK.

Yes, the infamous insider is back and this time he claims that Marvel Studios has finally cast “an actor” as Ghost Rider.
However, “the actor’s name has not been revealed yet”.
As you can tell, this information is as much use as a chocolate frying pan but I guess it does tell us that somebody has been cast and this could mean that it won’t be long until we hear an official announcement.
It will also tell us how Ghost Rider will fit himself into the current MCU family.

Following the recent success of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Marvel’s Phase Six is already off to a great start with the movie even linking itself to Avengers: Doomsday already.
So could the same be said for Ghost Rider?
In the comics, the very first Ghost Rider sold his soul to “Satan” who later turned out to be an arch-demon named Mephisto.
Coincidentally, Mephisto has recently appeared in Ironheart as played by Sacha Baron Cohen so could this be a way of introducing Ghost Rider himself?

It remains to be seen but with an actor now apparently chosen for the iconic role, we may not have long to find out.
In the meantime, fans have been roasting the announcement.
“It's Pedro again,” one Twitter user joked.
“Hear me out,” another said, with an image of Keanu Reeves as Ghostrider.

“It's a good thing they cast an actor and not a ham sandwich. Thanks for the heads up,” another user added.
At least sarcasm will help us whilst we wait to see Ghost Rider’s current MCU debut.
