MCU fans frustrated by massive spoiler from Disney itself

Is it a spoiler, though?

Marvel fans are frustrated following a recent announcement from Disney that spoiled the return of a popular character in the MCU.

I think most of us hate spoilers and with such ease of access to a variety of social media platforms, it’s like dodging a constant barrage of bullets hoping that our favourite TV series and movies, as well as video games aren't spoiled before we’ve had the chance to indulge.

Even when we remove apps from our phone and turn off notifications, it’s not uncommon for a sneaky email promoting merchandise won't ruin your day. WWE Euroshop, I’m looking at you (I have unsubscribed to its emails now).

However, when a major spoiler is revealed by a huge company such as Disney, it can be extra frustrating to some fans. Nowadays, I feel like trailers reveal too much and not much is left for the released product.

When it comes to the return of a beloved Marvel character, fans never even had the courtesy of it being revealed in a trailer. I would give you a traditional spoiler warning, but the news is already officially out there, so technically, it’s not a spoiler.

The character in question is Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter in the show originally available on Netflix (it’s now on Disney Plus) of the same name that ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2019.

Understandably, as awesome as her return is, some fans are disappointed that Disney announced the return of Jessica Jones in such an underwhelming fashion.

“I kind of wish they saved this for the trailer,” said Redditor marvelcomics22. “The reveal that Krysten Ritter is back as Jessica Jones is amazing.”

“But imagine if they saved this for the Daredevil: Born Again season two trailer, and at the end, Jessica Jones is talking to Matt Murdock/Daredevil. It would have been so much cooler.”

“It would have been cool for them to save this for the trailer, but we don’t live in that kind of world anymore. Everything gets spoiled eventually,” replied rcdp98.

“Yeah, it’s the same logic as revealing the Avengers: Doomsday cast so soon,” agreed PayneTrain181999. “The cast would’ve been spotted on set and leaked, so Disney got ahead of that.”

“I'm just happy she's back,” said Jessica-Beth.

Daredevil: Born Again season two is expected to premiere on Disney Plus in March 2026.
