With Marvel fans looking to the next few films that will build towards the massive crossover event, Avengers: DOOMSDAY, everyone is wondering which characters will make an appearance.

It appears the film will have a focus on past mutants as classic X-Men characters make a comeback, but the fate of X-Men friend Deadpool is uncertain.

On Twitter, it has been reported that Ryan Reynolds spoke on a podcast, talking about the fate of Deadpool, saying that he wanted to kill off the character in the latest film.

It seems that Reynolds wanted the merc with a mouth to finally die off in Deadpool & Wolverine, but studios stepped in to prevent it happening.

“Studios, of course, are like, ‘It'd be fun to play around with this guy in the future,” notes Reynolds in the interview on Spotify.

Deadpool has been killed off several times in the comics, despite being supposedly unkillable.

Of course, this is comics, nobody but Uncle Ben stays dead.

Fans, after hearing this news, are torn on the prospect of losing Deadpool before he has the chance to play in the MCU with other heroes.

On Reddit, one fan says, “Studio execs patting themselves on the back for not letting him be killed off after the success of the movie.”

Another notes, “No chance in f**king hell he'd kill the character that revitalized his career and put him where he is anytime soon.”

We don’t even know if Deadpool is set to appear in the next Avengers film, but given the reception of the character and the previous films, a cameo seems certain.

“My cynical-ass reads this as execs saying ‘we'll have him pop up here & there in some throwaway bits but we don't plan on doing anything meaningful with him,’” notes digit4l_r4in.

With so many X-Men favourites coming back, it makes sense to bring Wade in for some fun fights.
