Marvel fans are hyped following reports that the troubled Blade movie has apparently received a promising update from MCU chiefs.
The original Blade movie was released in 1998 and starred Wesley Snipes as the half-human/half-vampire “Daywalker” aka, Eric Brooks, and it was fantastic. However, you may want to avoid the third movie, Blade Trinity if you value your time.

Blade Trinity was released in 2004 and was so bad, that not even Ryan Reynolds as well as WWE legend Triple H and his vampire Pomeranian dog named Pac-Man could save it.

This would be the last time we’d see Wesley Snipes as the vampire hunter (apart from a cameo he made in a recent movie) and fans are desperate for the popular Marvel character to make a triumphant return over two decades later.
So, imagine the delight of fans when a new Blade movie was announced in 2019 starring the talented Mahershala Ali, and best of all, the “Daywalker” would be part of the MCU.
Sadly, since 2019, we’ve heard very little about the new Blade movie with rumours making the rounds claiming that the script is being constantly rewritten resulting in fans concerned that it has been outright cancelled.
As reported by Gizmondo in October 2024, the concerns were made worse after Marvel Studios and Disney had removed Blade from its release schedule, no longer having a release date or window.

However, fans have seemingly been given a glimmer of hope if recent speculation is believed.
In a tweet posted by a Twitter fan account, Marvel Updates, it’s claimed that MCU chief Kevin Feige and actor Mahershala Ali are reportedly happy with the script, and a search for a director is in motion.

“Is the long night finally over?” asked LaurelDarrell.
“Wow. I never thought I'd see the day,” said SlanderedOne with Raspy_Inferno sharing a “tears of joy” gif.
Of course, it’s worth keeping in mind that this is speculation at this point, so we should take this information with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
The next MCU movie to arrive in cinemas is Thunderbolts* on 2 May followed by The Fantastic Four: First Steps on 25 July 2025 which will conclude Phase 5 of the MCU.

Hopefully, whenever Blade graces us with its presence, it will be well worth the wait.
