Most of us haven’t seen Deadpool & Wolverine yet, but already teasers are online referring to the next Wolverine actor.

From today onwards, the general public, not just the press, will be able to have their say about the latest Marvel film.

While the initial Rotten Tomatoes’ scores are strong, they’re not “certified fresh”.

Still, much fun and mayhem is promised in Deadpool & Wolverine, and thus the fandom is undeterred (as of yet) by the mixed reviews.

As if that wasn’t thrilling enough, Marvel boss, Kevin Feige, is now teasing who the next Wolverine actor will be.

Check out the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, folks!

When discussing the possibility of other variants on Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Feige wasn’t against the idea of a new actor stepping into those Jackman sized boots.

However, Feige was also very clear that the next actor couldn’t simply do a “Hugh Jackman as Wolverine impression”.

Describing such a portrayal as a “pretty big mistake”, he also said that the next actor needs to bring a “very different style” to their rendition of the beloved Marvel character.

“It would have to be a very different and bold reinterpretation of [the character] because no one will be as great as Hugh Jackman at doing his version of Wolverine,” Feige concluded.

Currently though, there are no plans to replace Jackman, nor does there appear to be any consensus regarding who his replacement should be.

MCU fans have their opinions over who's best suited to the role, though you won’t find much agreement among them.

Some have suggested Henry Cavill take on the role, while others believe Dafne Keen, best known for playing Laura in Logan, is a better fit.

Seeing as Jackman is here to stay (at least for now), his reprisal of Wolverine teases the possibility of other iconic Avengers returning.

Marvel lore can be rewritten, the question is if and how the MCU will do that in the future.
