Marvel officially kills planned sequel in new update

It's completely dead

Until very recently, The Avengers: The Kang Dynasty was still kicking around on the Marvel website despite the film being cancelled.

Now, however, the film has been deleted from the webpage putting the final nail in that coffin and shipping it off to the undertakers.

The latest Marvel project is to be found on Disney+ with Agatha All Along

You’d have thought this would have occurred much earlier given the film has been scrapped for a while now and since then Marvel has announced the return of Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom.

The Kang Dynasty has been dead for some time, but this feels like Marvel has finally put in the death certificate and ushered the funeral through to its conclusion.

The superhero universe was shaken when allegations first emerged regarding Jonathan Majors and for a while, nobody knew what Marvel would do.

Of course, Majors was fired once he was found guilty of the charges and since then the plans have changed drastically.

This is a minor change for the website, but the removal of the film’s mention is a good thing for Marvel as it puts more distance between them and their past plans.

Instead of having Kang the Conquerer as the ‘big bad’ for the MCU, we’ll now have Doctor Doom who has been ushered in as a replacement.

The whole situation with Majors certainly forced Marvel and Disney to rethink how they hype up fans, as usually, they would happily announce future slates for their films sparking off years of build-up.

However, you never quite know what life will throw at you, and Kevin Feige has learned that the hard way.

I’m sure he’s happy to finally wave off the Kang storyline, though maybe it will be back in the far future with a new actor in the role.

For now, we can focus on the future which will be tinted green and silver.
