Marvel kills off MCU icons in shocking new R-rated series

They’re all dead, kinda

Marvel has released a teaser trailer for its shocking new R-rated MCU series and some of our favourite characters are well and truly dead.

This week, Marvel released a trailer teasing what MCU series are on the way to the streaming platform Disney Plus next year. We have the likes of Ironheart, Daredevil: Reborn and more to look forward to.

Check out the Looking Ahead Disney Plus trailer below!

All the goodness that is featured in the ‘Looking Ahead’ trailer above doesn't even take into account the MCU movies that are coming to the silver screen such as Captain America: Brave New World and that’s before the Multiverse Saga truly kicks into gear.

In the teaser trailer in question, we get a very brief glimpse of the animated Marvel Zombies, inspired by the fantastic “What… If?” Disney Plus series. Seriously, if you’ve never watched that animated series, I can wholeheartedly recommend checking it out.

A seven-second clip taken from the full ‘Looking Ahead trailer’ gives us a tease of what looks to be some of the Avengers alive and well, about to go to war with deceased Avengers turned into zombies on a Wakanda battlefield.

In the footage, we see Blade who has now become Moon Knight as well as the Thunderbolts and Black Widow fighting the good fight. On the side of evil, we see Steve Rogers’ Captain America, as well as Okoye and what looks like it could be Bucky’s Winter Soldier.

Not much else is known about Marvel Zombies, other than it’s inspired by the comic book series created by The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman, along with Mark Miller and Greg Land.

Marvel Zombies doesn't have a release date at the time of writing but some rumours have suggested that it could be released in October 2025.

As for the more immediate future, Captain America: Brave New World arrives in cinemas on 14 February 2024 followed by Thunderbolts on 2 May 2025.
