Marvel fans split as new MCU trailer spoils major death

Death is on the cards

The Super Bowl aired last night and while Kendrick Lamar was busy dissing Drake in front of millions of fans, there was also a little studio called Marvel showing a trailer for their upcoming film.

A new trailer for Thunderbolts* was shown during the game and some think it may be hinting at a big death for a member of the team.

Thunderbolts* is in cinemas later this year

The trailer came with the tagline, “Everyone deserves a second shot,” and it shows that with the ensemble of ragtag antiheroes coming together to tackle a huge threat.

The trailer teases redemption for the characters battling against The Sentry who will be introduced during the film, bringing monumental power to the MCU.

It seems, however, that one member of the team might not fare too well in the upcoming skirmishes.

While it is speculative, and shown in the trailer, you may want to look away for potential spoilers.

Still here? Well, then you may be shocked to see that a key member of the Thunderbolts might be passing over to the other side.

During one frenetic moment, Taskmaster is seen heading into a facility with other members of the team.

An explosion occurs and on the daring escape, it appears that Taskmaster is nowhere to be seen.

Of course, they may have nipped out of another exit, but it could also spell disaster for the antihero.

Fans have also spotted that the character is notably absent from several shots of the team, with many thinking they’ll die before being formally brought onto the team.

Will Taskmaster get killed before anything major actually happens? Or is there a bigger plot point for the hero/villain that would be majorly spoiled were it in the trailer?

We’ll have to wait until the summer to find out for sure, but I’d be surprised if all members of the Marvel team make it to the end.
