Marvel fans divided over Kang's MCU return

Kang might be coming back, but should he?

Just when everyone had thought Kang starring in the MCU was over, rumours about a possible return spread online.

Naturally, Marvel fans aren’t sure how to feel about this latest development.

In 2023, Kang actor Jonathan Majors was dropped by Marvel Studios after being found guilty of assaulting his ex.

Even though Majors avoided jail time, his conviction led to a swift (and understandable) fall from grace.

Having once been set up to play the MCU’s overarching villain, Kang’s storyline was culled and the MCU took a different turn.

Speaking of comebacks, not long until Daredevil: Born Again begins

Arguably, this is why we’ve got Robert Downey Jr. returning as Doctor Doom.

However, according to insider gossip, Marvel’s Kevin Feige is contemplating bringing Kang back.

As per ScreenGeek, this would be to “wrap up loose ends” the character’s sudden departure left behind.

The fandom has a lot to say on the matter, not all of it bad.

X account @SuperTalkPod said, “Jonathan Major deserves a second chance – no doubt. But at Marvel, let’s not go backwards by reviving Kang.”

“Everyone deserves a second chance,” added @tweetsofWIZARD.

It may surprise some of you to learn that there are many, many fans in favour of his return.

That being said, there are quite a few who believe Kang should be left in the past.

“No thanks,” remarked @InfirmaPeribit.

User @XApp_User commented, “Just leave it alone bruh.”

Even if you think Majors deserves a redemptive arc, it’s fair to say that the Kang ship has already sailed.

With the next phase of the MCU already planned out, it seems wild to fans that Marvel may undo all of its hard work just for some loose ends.

At this moment in time, this is nothing more than a rumour, so fans could be arguing amongst themselves for no real reason.

You know what that means: assume this is nothing but speculation until told otherwise.
