Marvel has said enough is enough, killed off Kang and dealt with the storyline that never could be.

After the controversy, court rulings, and the firing of Jonathon Majors, Marvel had to deal with the Kang storyline so much of the MCU was being built on.

Marvel will be back on Disney+ soon with the third and final season of What If...?

They thankfully did away with Kang at the end of the third Ant-Man film and while the character will likely be revived many years down the line, we’re done with him for now.

Of course, this being comics, or at least films based on comics, we’re never really sure how dead someone really is.

Looking back at the end of Ant-Man: Quantumania and how Loki season 2 dealt with the fallout of Kang, it’s safe to say that Marvel moved on from this quietly.

Comments from the community seem to point to both sadness and happiness at this turn of events.

It’s sad to see a great villain have to be shelved, but at least the company moved on quickly and slotted in the plans for Avengers: DOOMSDAY and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Reflecting on this over on Reddit, fans saying their piece on the situation.

“It's a shame, because Kang is a cool character with a lot of stories to tell, but they never really made the audience care or fear for Kang,” said TheStabbingHobo.

One fan posits that we’ll get more closure at some point, saying, “We will simply get a passing comment that the TVA dealt with the remaining Kang variants on multiple timelines.”

I love this theory from one fan that ponders bringing back Kang down the line.

They say, “I got a funny feeling Marvel will bring Kang back as the main villain for Young Avengers.”

I think Marvel will absolutely revisit Kang once enough time has passed and using him to springboard a new team is a great idea.

For now, though, dead is dead and Marvel has dealt with the issue.
