Before Avengers: Doomsday, there was Avengers: The Kang Dynasty which aimed to welcome back Kang the Conqueror as the next major villain.
However, following allegations of assault, Kang actor Jonathan Majors was fired by Disney leading to the total overhaul of the Avengers franchise.
Instead, it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would be stepping out of his Iron Man suit and into Doctor Doom’s cape as he takes on the role of the villainous character in Avengers: Doomsday which will hit cinemas on 18 December 2026.
Directed by the Russo brothers, Avengers: Doomsday will mark the fourth Avengers entry and will follow Doctor Doom and the various teams of superheroes who must come together to take him down.

With the original Avengers, The New Avengers, The Fantastic Four and even the X-Men coming together to go head-to-head with Doom, it is safe to say that he will be a formidable enemy.
However, now that the story has a clear path, albeit one unknown to us, we also do not know how Avengers: The Kang Dynasty would have played out as this has been kept under wraps by Disney.
That being said, one Marvel insider has released a full synopsis which reveals how the story of a Kang-led Avengers entry would have played out.

Tom Holland Would Have Had a Lead Role
Shared by MyTimeToShineHello, the synopsis reads as follows:
“In this film, the TVA began gathering Anchor Beings from across the Multiverse, believing they are the only ones powerful enough to defeat the Council of Kangs.
“Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were the Anchors for their respective realities, while Tom Holland’s Spider-Man served as the Anchor for Earth-616.
“The movie was intended to be smaller in scope compared to SECRET WARS, focusing more on Holland's Peter Parker, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and other Anchors like Nic Cage's Ghost Rider.
“The plan was for all of them to ultimately fail, leading to the collapse of the Multiverse and Kang’s creation of Battleworld.
“This would then set the stage for SECRET WARS, where other MCU characters and additional Multiverse figures would converge on Battleworld.”
It is worth taking this news with a pinch of salt as it has not been officially confirmed.
However, there is no denying that this would make sense, especially with the MCU properly diving into the Multiverse in recent years.
Not only that but it also shows that Tom Holland would have had a massive role to play whereas right now, the Spider-Man actor has not yet been confirmed to star in Avengers: Secret Wars alongside fellow actors Maguire, Garfield, Jackman or Cage.
With Avengers: Doomsday’s plot also being kept under wraps, we are all set to be surprised when the next Avengers entry hits cinemas next December with Avengers: Secret Wars expected to arrive a year later.
