The MCU Fantastic Four film cannot get here soon enough. On the back of a recent announcement putting Julia Garner in the iconic role of the Silver Surfer, Marvel has dropped a new teaser poster for the film with the Human Torch front and centre.

The image shows Human Torch flying through a deep blue sky and writing out the number four in flames above a cityscape. Much like the original announcement of the main cast, the image has a distinct 1960s feel with an ultra-sci-fi style in the city below.

Pedro Pascal is no stranger to huge blockbuster pop culture franchises

Production on Fantastic Four is due to start this summer with Matt Shakman, who also oversaw Wandavision, at the helm directing a stellar cast; Pedro Pascal will be stepping into the role of Reed Richards (AKA Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby will play Sue Storm (AKA The Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (AKA The Human Torch) is due to be portrayed by Joseph Quinn, and finally Ben Grimm (AKA The Thing) will see Ebon Moss-Bachrach in the role.

While little is known about the plot of the film, the casting of the Silver Surfer could be hinting at the planet-eating, big bad of Galactus. Which would be frankly amazing, to kick off with one of Marvel’s most iconic bad guys, right off the bat. In all the imagery we’ve seen so far, everyone is looking happy and carefree, a state that will not last long if Galactus is on course for Earth. Marvel’s first family will have to come together to combat this out-of-the-world threat in what could be a perfect introduction for the long-running family of heroes.

The film is slated to release 25 July 2025, which isn’t that long to wait, thankfully. We only hope that between now and the end of this year we get to see more character posters like this one of the Human Torch in order to get a better feel for the film.
