It looks like Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel could be set to return to the world of the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday following a new post made online.
Larson played Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, in three major film appearances between 2019 and 2023.
However, following the poor box office performance of The Marvels, a third Captain Marvel film hasn’t yet been confirmed. But it doesn’t look like the character is done with appearing in the MCU yet.
Larson went out to cast her vote in the recent elections that took place in the United States, sharing a photo on her social media of her at the voting booth. In the photo she’s seen wearing a white hoodie hiding what appears to be a blonde wig.

Indeed, Larson captioned the photo with “VOTED”, while also urging her followers to “Ignore the wig”. A bit of a suspicious caption, if you ask me. Unless she’s trying to hide her wig for a role that she may be currently filming.
Is Brie Larson in Avengers: Doomsday?
Obviously, this has fuelled rumours that Larson is currently filming scenes for Avengers: Doomsday, where she could be potentially reprising her role as Carol for a fourth time.
Principle photography for Avengers: Doomsday occured earlier this year, though additional shoots will be taking place over the Autumn.
Although the actress was not included in the initial casting announcements earlier this year, there is speculation that she could make a cameo appearance even if she’s not part of the main cast.
And sure, it could be that. There’s no way Carol’s involvement is done in the MCU, considering the cliffhanger ending in The Marvels. Even if another Captain Marvel film isn’t in the works for quite some time, the character will certainly be making another appearance.
“Ignore the wig is hilarious promo cause I don't think people would've noticed,” wrote one user on the Marvel Studios Reddit page.
“I think people would’ve noticed because her hair is very short right now, she’s got a pixie cut,” wrote another person in the comments. “Also both her fans and anti-fans are a bit obsessive when it comes to her, I can almost guarantee you that if she hadn’t said anything about the wig this would’ve been posted here full of speculation about why she’s wearing a wig lol she couldn’t win.”
However, with no confirmation on Larson being in Avengers: Doomsday, there’s always a chance this could be for another film project that she’s not allowed to speak about yet.
