Avengers: Secret Wars will supposedly be five hours long, and will be split into two parts.

That’s not to say it’ll be like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which had a five-year gap between the events of both films, Avengers: Secret Wars will be one continued story.

A new Marvel game about Blade is on the way! Check out the trailer below.

This information was shared by Culture Crave on Twitter, who stated inside information has described the upcoming crossover as “a giant five-hour movie with a year-long intermission.”

Obviously we’re to take this news with a pinch of salt, as Marvel is yet to confirm or deny any information about the next Avengers film, which is still several years away by this point. However, it certainly wouldn’t be out of the question when you consider the source material the films will be based off.

The Secret Wars storyline is massive, spanning several characters, many of which have already been established in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe. Obviously some creative liberties are to be taken to adapt it to the big-screen, but the core storyline will likely stay the same, meaning it’ll need a decent run-time to tell the whole story.

Unfortunately, planning for the next Avengers film has had a spanner thrown in its works. The current phase of the MCU was positioning the time-travelling space warrior Kang The Conqueror as its next big bad, but the actor playing him, Jonathan Majors, has reportedly been axed following recent criminal charges.

This leaves the franchise in a bit of a predicament, with the only options being to recast Majors and continue Kang’s story, or pivot to a new villain, like Doctor Doom.

One of the upcoming Avengers films was to be called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but has supposedly been renamed to Avengers 5, seemingly hinting a major change to the planned story.

Hopefully everything is resolved sooner rather than later, especially since Secret Wars has some big shoes to fill if it wants to live up to the spectacle of Avengers: Endgame.
