While the next major D23 event isn’t due to be held until August 2026, its spin-off version, Destination D23, did take place this past weekend at Disney World in Florida.
Personally, I’m super hyped that World of Frozen finally opens at Disneyland Paris in spring of next year, but we’re not here today to discuss how excited I am to visit Arendelle.
The highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday was supposedly teased at the event in a hype reel shown to attendees.
I say ‘supposedly’ as social media has been flooded with fake reveals, posters, and images for both Avengers: Doomsday and The Mandalorian and Grogu; that’s a consequence of the engagement farming era we live in.

As reported by MCU_Direct on X/Twitter, the reel featured dialogue from 2003’s X2: X-Men United, specifically the following line: “There are forces in this world, both Mutant and human alike, who believe that a war is coming.”
Admittedly, this ‘tease’ doesn’t exactly tell us anything we didn’t already know, so it’s not too much of a concern whether it’s real or fake.
Avengers: Doomsday’s casting has already made clear that the film will heavily focus on both the Avengers and the X-Men.
Of course, we don’t know whether the two groups will be teaming up or whether the X-Men might be under the control of the incoming Doctor Doom.

It’s already enough to have fuelled fan excitement though, regardless of whether it’s real or not.
“The hype is building,” one person remarked.
This is far from being the only teaser that’s surfaced online.
For example, Peggy Carter’s car has been spotted near to the film’s set with rumours suggesting that the film may introduce us to Steve and Peggy’s children.

Of course, that should be taken with a pinch of salt until we know more.
With Avengers: Doomsday not set to land until 18 December 2026, it’s going to be a while until we find out what’s in store.
In fact, we might not even get a trailer until next summer’s main D23 event. Sigh.
