Although there is still over a year until we can finally descend upon our local cinema to see the next instalment in the Avengers franchise, it seems as though a major milestone has already been reached.
Avengers: Doomsday is expected to be the first Avengers entry since Avengers: Endgame took the world by storm back in 2019 so it is no surprise that fans are eager to see what the Russo brothers have been cooking up.
Welcome back Robert Downey. Jr to the fray but this time as Doctor Doom himself rather than Iron Man, we were treated to the movie’s very long cast list earlier this year and so there is no denying that Avengers: Doomsday will rival the sheer scale of Endgame.
However, despite its ambition, a recent report by Marvel insider DanielRPK reveals that Avengers: Doomsday will wrap filming later this week.

As pointed out by Twitter user comicodigy, this means that the movie is gearing up for 14 months of VFX and post production so we can only imagine what the finished project will look like next December.
Production for Avengers: Doomsday kicked off back in April with filming expected to last for six months so this timeframe actually makes sense even though it seems as though it has gone very quickly.
Although this rumour has not been confirmed by any of the people working on the upcoming MCU movie, it does make sense that filming is coming to an end with actors such as Pedro Pascal and Alan Cumming already finishing filming their parts as Reed Richards and Nightcrawler respectively.
Other than that, more specific information surrounding Avengers: Doomsday remains under wraps in typical MCU fashion.

Nevertheless, if filming is wrapping up this week, other than the occasional reshoot, it seems as though the highly anticipated movie is finally within our grasp and MCU lovers took to social media to share their thoughts.
“Good, the CGI has been absolute trash in every movie since Endgame,” one user said, hoping that there will now be enough time for improvements.
Another agreed, adding, “Crazy, it’s almost like that’s how these blockbusters are supposed to be made and Marvel has just lost the plot in the last few years regarding their production timeframes.”
In recent years, many Marvel fans have expressed frustration at the lazy CGI used in the most recent releases so hopefully this 14-month timeframe will give them enough time to iron out any kinks.
