If you’ve ever wondered what happened to Dudley Dursley after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, then you’re in the right place.

Dudley Dursley is the one and only child of the dastardly Vernon and Petunia, and a cousin of Harry Potter. Without giving too much away, at a young age, Harry is sent to live with the Dursley muggle family and let’s just say, they’re not very nice to the boy who lived.

Check out the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer below!

I will be venturing into spoilers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, so please consider this to be your final spoiler warning.

Following the epic showdown between Harry Potter and friends against the tyranny of Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters, and during the closing moments of the novel and part two of the movie, we learn that Harry, Hermione and Ron go on to live happy lives raising families.

But what of those more obscure characters? The ones that never battled against Lord Voldemort and his cronies, such as the aforementioned Dudley Dursley?

“What happened to Dudley?” asked Redditor TheKingsPeace. “Given that Harry Potter is a story about magic and fantastic creatures, we never get to hear much about Dudley Dursley or how his life fared.”

“The dementor attack forced Dudley to see how much of an awful person he was. After this, he worked out to become a better person and told Harry that he wasn't a waste of space, which was only the beginning,” replied quadrilateralism.

“I'm fairly sure in The Cursed Child, it states that Harry and Dudley met up and would have their children play together,” they continued. “I'd like to think that somehow they managed to become friends and recognise how truly awful Petunia and Vernon were for the both of them.”

Reddit user KaiserKCat followed up with some added details: “According to J.K. Rowling, Harry and Dudley remained in contact after the events of the last book. They were on Christmas card relations and Harry would take his family to visit Dudley's, much to the dismay of his children."

So, there you have it, now you know what happened to Dudley Dursley after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
