Yesterday saw the exciting news that DC has cast the next big name that will take on the role of iconic supervillain Clayface in the upcoming movie with the same name.
Since the Clayface movie was first announced, details surrounding the next big DC project have remained pretty scarce.
What we do know is that the movie will of course focus on supervillain Clayface, the alias of many different characters over the years who are able to use their clay-like bodies to shapeshift at will.

As a prominent enemy of Batman, Clayface has starred in many different DC projects over the years but now the character will headline his own self-titled film in 2026.
Directed by James Watkins and described as a “Hollywood horror story”, he will be joined by writer Mike Flanagan to bring the character to life and just yesterday, it was confirmed that actor Tom Rhys Harries would be taking on the titular role.
Best known for his role in Netflix’s White Lines, the Welsh actor will now be helming the next big DC movie and it is safe to say that fans are losing their minds following the news.
“He won the role over the likes of Jack O’Connell and George MacKay. Must’ve given a hell of an audition,” one comment read over on r/movies.

Another agreed, adding how they are feeling optimistic about the Clayface movie.
“Look, say what you will about DC doing a "pointless villain spinoff" - the origin story for Clayface is cool as hell and will lend amazingly to a 1920s set body horror movie,” they wrote.
“Excited to see what they do, regardless of the larger DC Universe tie-in.”
It seems as though the vast majority of fans are excited to see how Harries will bring the character of Clayface to life and luckily they will not have to wait much longer.
