James Gunn’s DCU properly kicks off next month with Superman debuting in cinemas around the world, ushering in a new age for DC Comics on the screen.
This already had fans excited for what’s to come, but the news that the next Wonder Woman film is currently being written now has Batman fans overly excited.
With two of DC’s big three now emerging in the DCU, this has many eager to see where Batman fits in, and over on Reddit, there are already plenty of theories.

This reaction comes after James Gunn has said he is not working on a “straight-up sequel” which is leading many to think we’ll see an ensemble film instead.
In a new thread, Sure-Computer-9047 notes, “My prediction is it’s either a non-Superman following up on its events (maybe JLI) or a team up movie (maybe World’s Finest or Trinity considering the WW news).”
This is picked up by others, who see Trinity as being the target goal for the DCU, bringing together Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman.
“100% definitely World's Finest,” replies LastCryptographer173, who points out the iconic comic book team-up of Superman and Batman.

EmeraldJunkie notes, “The World’s Finest movie they made to tie together Batman the Animated Series and Superman the Animated Series is the sort of movie I want. One where they have a playful rivalry.”
There’s a fear that the DCU could quickly devolve into what came before, which was a very messy DC universe, but fans are starting to have faith in James Gunn’s vision.
Other guesses branch out into the DCU potential, with one Redditor going against the Batman bet, and saying, “I bet it's a Superman-Supergirl movie. Gunn clearly enjoyed casting Millie Alcock as Kara and also Jason Momoa as Lobo. I think he wants to do something with that.
Whatever is next, it’s sure to be exciting, and all eyes will be on Batman casting news.
