Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a full remake built from the ground up of the original Tomb Raider that first launched on the PlayStation all the way back in 1996.
In fact, this is the second remake of the OG, following the fantastic Tomb Raider: Anniversary in 2007. Which, by the way, that game has aged quite well, if you’re ever tempted to check it out. If you subscribe to PlayStation Plus Premium, you can play it right now at no extra cost.
As for the upcoming remake, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be co-developed by series veterans Crystal Dynamics and will be joined by Flying Wild Hog (Trek to Yomi, Evil West). The remake will be powered by Unreal Engine 5.
No matter which version of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis you pick up, you will be gifted with the pre-order bonus. This bonus DLC comes with the ‘Survivor Outfit’ inspired by the 2013 reboot. This outfit is an early unlock, so you will be able to acquire it at some point, even without the pre-order DLC.
Of course, you can pick up the standard edition digitally and physically at retail. This will come with no juicy extras, other than the pre-order bonus. But if all you are about is playing Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, this is all you’ll ever need.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be released on 12 February 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. As for the next new game in the series, that will be Tomb Raider: Catalyst, arriving sometime in 2027.
