Draco Malfoy's character arc is one of the more interesting and nuanced in the Harry Potter series, and he's easily one of the more iconic figures that the franchise has produced.
A big part of that was his appearances in the eight films, where the character was played by actor Tom Felton, who debuted in the role all the way back in The Philosopher's Stone (no, I'm not calling it the Sorcerer's Stone) in 2001.
His last turn as the character came in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which closed out the original movie run in 2011.
Since then, it's been difficult to see how he would make a return to the character, but he has now done so, and fans couldn't be more delighted that it has finally come to pass.

Tom Felton Debuts On Broadway In The Cursed Child
Tom Felton made his highly anticipated first appearance as Draco Malfoy at the Lyric Theatre on Broadway in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The play is set several years after the events of the books, as Harry, Ron, Hermione and even Draco send their children to Hogwarts for the first time.
The characters feature heavily, as a new dark threat emerges threatening to bring back all of the evils of Lord Voldemort.
His first moments on stage were admittedly pretty heartwarming, as the actor paused to allow the audience a moment to calm down.
Reaction online was predictably hysterical as well, with plenty of fans taking to Twitter/X to share their excitement. "Listen to the crowd bro's aura is off the scale," one comment read.
"OH, TO BE IN THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS," another added.
A third shared their thoughts on Felton's return to the character, and the show itself, saying: "Gone full Lucius with the hair. Not a fan of the Cursed Child personally but seeing Tom as Draco again is so amazing and nostalgic.
"I’d go to see this just for him."

In response to the clip of him coming out on stage for the first time, one said, "Awww this brought tears to my eyes. You know he trying his best to hold it together right there.
"Stayed collected and professional though."
If you happen to be in New York at any point soon, Felton's run as the character is set to continue in earnest until 22 March, 2026, with no word yet on the possibility of an extension.
