Forget Hogwarts Legacy, Harry Potter to Return to Gaming

Dropping in the Forbidden Forest

Fortnite continues to go from strength to strength in recent months with Epic Games bringing in audiences from all over the globe thanks to its excellent collaborations and events.

Just this weekend, Epic Games teamed up with American animated sitcom The Simpsons, welcoming a themed Battle Pass, new cel-shaded map and a brand-new loot pool.

Not only that but players are able to choose between five new skins including Homer, Marge, and Ned Flanders as well as Peely and Fishstick, two Fortnite veteran characters who have been given a The Simpsons makeover.

With fans praising this new collaboration, it seems as though Epic Games is not done there as another exciting movie series may be making its way to the world of Fortnite.

According to Twitter account SamLeakss as spotted by PoketOfficial, the magical world of Harry Potter will soon be arriving to Fortnite when Chapter 7 of the battle royale title arrives.

It is currently unclear what exactly this collaboration will entail but it makes sense that it would arrive now with the upcoming release of both a HBO television series and a new audiobook series being released, making the Harry Potter franchise a household name once more.

However, the Harry Potter franchise does not mean the same as it once did following allegations of transphobic remarks made on social media by the series’ author J.K. Rowling over the past few years.

As a result, even the Fortnite News Twitter account has issued a statement confirming that they do not support this rumoured Harry Potter x Fortnite collaboration and are unhappy that Epic Games has chosen to go through with it.

Some fans are not happy

“If you feel frustrated about this, I recommend directing these frustrations towards the official Fortnite account - this is the best way to make your voice heard and has the greatest chance to have an impact on Epic Games’ future decision making,” the statement reads.

It is worth noting that the Harry Potter collaboration has not yet been confirmed by Epic Games and is merely a rumour as of right now but if it does turn out to be true, there will be some unhappy Fortnite fans out there.

Fortnite Chapter 7 is set to begin in early December 2025 and if the rumours are true, it will kick off with a brand-new Harry Potter-themed Battle Pass.

So if you are fed up with waiting for new Hogwarts Legacy content, this will be the next best thing for all the Harry Potter fans out there.
