Hogwarts Legacy 2 Can Wait, Harry Potter Himself is Returning to Gaming

The Boy Who Lived is back... again

Since its inception back in the late 90s, the Harry Potter franchise has become a household name thanks to various books, movies, video games, board games and more that have been associated with the fictional world.

In recent years, the Harry Potter franchise has undergone a rebirth thanks to the arrival of Hogwarts Legacy back in 2023 and the upcoming release of the HBO television series inspired by the hit movie series with the same name.

It seems as though fans are always eager for more and whilst Hogwarts Legacy 2 may still be a few years away from launch, Harry Potter is never far away.

That is because, according to a recent leak by Fortnite insider HYPEX, the Boy Who Lived will be making his way to the battle-royale title to finish off 2025.

In recent months, Fortnite has welcomed the cast of The Simpsons and given its maps a Springfield makeover.

At the moment, Quentin Tarantino’s world of Kill Bill has entered the fray, allowing players to take on the role of The Bride herself.

However, it seems as though the magical world of Harry Potter is set to arrive next if this recent leak is to be believed.

The Boy Who Lives Is Here to Rack Up Those Kills

In a post shared over on Twitter, Harry Potter will be arriving during this year’s Winterfest event on Fortnite and will launch alongside new skins and a broom mythic.

Of course, this has not been confirmed by Riot Games itself but HYPEX is known for being pretty accurate when it comes to Fortnite-related leaks.

So what do fans think?

The discussion recently took place over on r/FortniteBattleRoyale and in amongst the criticism for Riot Games choosing to work with the Harry Potter IP considering J.K. Rowling’s alleged transphobic rants, fans of the magical world seem to be pretty excited.

“A Dobby sidekick would go hard,” one comment read.

“Welp, my friends are only getting a hug this Christmas,” another joked.

For fans, it is definitely an exciting addition to Fortnite but as always, it is worth remembering that any money spent here does have negative connotations thanks to J.K. Rowling’s views over recent years.

Nevertheless, it seems as though this is not stopping Riot Games and fans can be looking forward to mounting their brooms in the upcoming weeks.
