The Witcher 4 just got a hugely promising update, and it sounds like development on the game is going well.
Although it was announced just under a year ago at The Game Awards, CD Projekt Red is not expected to launch The Witcher 4 for at least another few years.
While we’ve had a glimpse at some in-engine footage and gameplay for the game in recent months, it sounds like development on The Witcher 4 is only just ramping up.
As reported by KitGuru, The Witcher 4 has added over 60 new developers to the team, showing continued growth as development progresses, and making it the biggest project for the company at the moment.

Cyberpunk 2 has also added an additional 20 developers, but considering that game is also much earlier in development than The Witcher 4, it makes sense that this is less of a priority for CDPR right now.
Meanwhile, KitGuru also reports that more developers have been brought in for other projects at the company.

In addition to The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2, the developer is also working on a Witcher co-op spin-off, a remake of the first Witcher, and a new IP.
Still, it’s good news to see that CD Projekt Red is continuing to grow. Part of this can be attributed to the success of Cyberpunk 2077, which had a rather iffy launch back in 2020.
If you cast your mind back, you’ll remember all sorts of glitches, bugs, and performance issues associated with the launch day version of Cyberpunk 2077.
It even got to the point where it was delisted from the PlayStation store, and refunds were issued to buyers.

But since CD Projekt Red committed itself to fixing the game and allowing it to live up to its potential, it may have just won back a lot of the fan goodwill that was lost. And that’s allowed the company to scale up production of new projects.
