The Last Of Us viewers demand standalone Tommy episode in season 2

Viewers are hoping for Tommy to get his own episode in the second season of The Last of Us.

We’ve almost made it to the end of The Last of Us' first season - there’s just a few more days to wait until the explosive finale airs.

Some fans are a bit concerned about the fact that the finale is the shortest episode of the season - it’ll be just 43 minutes long. Given that we’ve had much longer episodes this season, including the 81-minute premiere and Bill and Frank’s heartbreaking 75-minute love story, many are worried that it could feel a bit rushed. It’ll apparently be making a pretty big change from the game, too, which is sure to prove divisive.

Take a look at the trailer for The Last of Us’ season one finale below.

If you really can’t get enough juicy TLoU goodness in your life, a bonus behind-the-scenes featurette will be available to watch after the season one finale airs. As cool as that is though, fans are already thinking ahead to the second season. Specifically, on Reddit, viewers have been sharing their love for Joel’s brother, Tommy, who many believe deserves his own episode in season two.

“If we got a Bill and Frank episode and Ellie and Riley episode, then I sure as hell want a single standalone episode for this badass in season two,” SerDire wrote, along with a screenshot of Tommy from the game.

Others agree: “I’m betting we do. Tommy is a much bigger character in Part II than he is in I,” one replied. “Yeah I don’t think they cast Gabriel Luna for just two episodes. They were planning ahead,” another speculated. “The amount of Tommy content they can add in is endless and it will be a huge mistake if they don’t. Tommy's offscreen exploits are enough for a full game in Part II,” added another.

Chances are, it’ll be a very long time before season two hits our screens, but if Part II is adapted as well as the first game has been, it’s going to be phenomenal.
