As a result of a lack of updates from Bethesda, the highly-anticipated The Elder Scrolls VI remains something of a mystery, despite having first been announced almost seven years ago.

With just a brief teaser trailer and the assurance that it is in development, fans have received little to no other official information and have had to rely on leaks and insider teases.

Check out our first and only look at TES VI so far in the trailer below!

That is the case this time as one leaker, who claimed they worked at Bethesda, revealed that they were “assigned to ES6 doing modelling work”.

As a result, they had some information to share, especially regarding The Elder Scrolls VI’s potential map size.

We all know that The Elder Scrolls’ most recent title, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, featured quite an expansive map.

However, it has been rumoured on more than one occasion that TES VI’s map will be considerably larger and it seems as though this modeller’s information corresponds with that.

In a list of supposed information surrounding the game, they revealed that it would feature “13 major cities, smallest around the size of Whiterun and the largest maybe [six times] that”.

It goes without saying that this would make the open-world map considerably larger and it was not long before fans came together to share their thoughts.

“If it is true, pretty much all of that sounds good. A city six times the size of Whiterun is something I expect but it would show that cities this time around are gonna be bigger and more populated,” user Tjaart23 wrote.

However, user De_Wom thought differently, adding: “Yeah 13 major cities ain't gonna happen (nor do I wish for it), as it would either mean an insane amount of quests required, or a departure from the high content density that has been a staple of BGS games since Morrowind. It would mean turning TES VI into something like AC: Odyssey, and I sincerely doubt they would go that route.”

It remains to be seen if this leak is true but it would seem as though fan opinion would be divided if so.
