When it comes to information surrounding the highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls VI, it is insiders and leaks that have been keeping us somewhat hopeful.
Despite first announcing the next instalment in The Elder Scrolls franchise back in 2018, Bethesda has been keeping its cards close to its chest when it comes to The Elder Scrolls VI and as it stands, we are still yet to see any gameplay or receive a release window.
However, according to industry insider and Youtuber Colt Eastwood, 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting year for fans.
In a recent video shared to his Youtube channel, Colt talked about some of the games heading to Xbox Series consoles and PC over the next few months and years.

One game featured was The Elder Scrolls VI and Colt acknowledged that, after the launch of Starfield, fans have been worried that Bethesda may not have learned from its mistakes.
Starfield received mixed reviews when it was released back in 2023 with many concerns focusing on the creative engine that Bethesda decided to use. This led to too many loading screens and an outdated structure.
Now Colt believes that The Elder Scrolls VI will at least feature “next-level graphics” despite fans worrying that a modern-day Bethesda will not be able to recapture the magic of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Nevertheless, with the Youtuber claiming that TES VI is “advancing closer to release than most would believe”, he joins fellow insiders in believing that we will not see the next Elder Scrolls title until 2027 or maybe even 2028.

However, he does share that we could see a big reveal some time in 2026 which could include our first look at gameplay as well as that all important release date.
Colt Eastwood does not share his sources for this piece of information so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt.
However, with Todd Howard previously stating that much of the game had been developed for the first section of the main quest back in 2023, it is perhaps unsurprising that there is some gameplay footage that could be revealed as early as next year.
Be that as it may, fans have been left feeling torn over this new information and took to r/TESVI to share their thoughts.

“Believe it when I see it,” user AleecoRaberto shared.
Another agreed, adding, “Personally doubt it, I don’t think Bethesda themselves 100% know yet.
Personally I think 2027 is more realistic but who knows.”
With just a few months to go until 2025 comes to a close, we could be seeing The Elder Scrolls VI a lot sooner than we thought but as always, it is worth taking this leak with a pinch of salt until then.
