Eagle-eyed Bethesda fans believe they’ve uncovered where The Elder Scrolls VI is due to be set.

While, yes, The Elder Scrolls VI is in development at Bethesda and has been for a long time, it’s also nowhere near ready to launch.

Partly, this is due to the size and ambition of the game, but also because many developers are still hard at work providing post-launch support for Starfield.

A playable build is reportedly available internally for The Elder Scrolls VI but assumedly, this is pretty primitive.

Bethesda’s Todd Howard has made it clear that he wants The Elder Scrolls VI to have the same kind of decade-long appeal as Skyrim, so you can understand why devs are taking their time.

It’s very possible that it could be a next-gen game, considering that both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox series X/S are in the latter stages of their life cycles.

In terms of official updates, Bethesda continues to hold its cards close to its chest, but fans have spotted an interesting detail on Pinterest, of all places.

Starfield’s Shattered Space expansion will launch later this year.

Reddit user nitsuaztnarf took to the site to share the Pinterest account of a supposed Bethesda employee who remains unnamed.

They wrote that the employee was “still actively updating more pins”, noting that it’s “interesting to see the inspiration and direction for Tesvi, clearly Hammerfell is the setting”.

The user deduced this from the kind of images pinned by the supposed employee.

The accompanying screenshots show images of historical weapons and armament, desert appropriate attire, various desert-esque rock faces as well as schooling fish.

It’s easy to see why an Elder Scrolls fan would take this collection of images - presumably collected by the dev as inspiration - and deduce Hammerfell as a location.

“I hope so, Hammerfell would be so f**king coo,” wrote one fan.

Of course, this needs to be taken with a pinch of salt as the identity of the individual on Pinterest is withheld.

That being said, a link to the account shows it's now been made private and unviewable suggesting there may be something here we shouldn’t see.

The long wait continues.
