While we wait for The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda has surprised us with a new release that’s arriving this October.

The Elder Scrolls VI was revealed at E3 2018 with a glorious trailer, and as I type this, I can still hear the roar of excitement from those in attendance at the once huge video game convention that is sadly no more.

Sadly, since that time, we’ve had no official update on the development progress of The Elder Scrolls VI. We can only assume that Bethesda is hard at work, behind the scenes, aiming to deliver the best entry in this beloved fantasy RPG series yet.

Whether The Elder Scrolls VI turns out to be the best in the series remains to be seen, but we’ll certainly be hoping for the best. That being said, I don’t think anything can prevent the infamous Bethesda launch bugs, not even Bethesda.

So, what can we do while we wait for the next entry in The Elder Scrolls series? For starters, 2011’s Skyrim never lets us down; its adventures in Tamriel are always a safe bet to keep us entertained, no matter the console generation.

Furthermore, released earlier this year, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered graced us with its presence on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is powered by Unreal Engine 5, and with plenty of gameplay enhancements and quality of life improvements, this release is so good that it feels more like a remake than a remaster.

Up to this point, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has only been available digitally, but that is about to change in just a couple of months.

As brought to our attention by Push Square, in a tweet replying to a customer, UK online retailer The Game Collection has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is getting a physical release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

That being said, it has not yet been confirmed whether The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on disc will come fully loaded or will still require updates when the disc is inserted into the console.

In this day and age, it wouldn't surprise me if the physical version still requires an internet connection to download any potential updates, but it’s great news nonetheless that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is being released on disc.

A solid release date for the physical version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered hasn't been announced, but it is currently scheduled to arrive at some point this October.
