An upcoming Lord Of The Rings game will let you live out the hobbit lifestyle of your dreams, coming soon for consoles and PC.

What if I told you that you could play a game like Stardew Valley but it’s set in the world of Middle-Earth, and you’re a hobbit? Well that’s exactly what Tales of the Shire is aiming to be and it’s out this year.

Take a look at Stardew Valley below.

Set in the relaxing location of The Shire, the game will reportedly see players live a peaceful life amongst their fellow hobbits, presumably farming, gardening and improving their home.

It’s a far cry from the usual Lord Of The Rings games like Shadow Of Mordor which typically see the player take part in the many conflicts that make up the history of Middle-earth.

Tales of the Shire will release for “consoles and PC,” though it wasn’t specified which consoles will get the pleasure of supporting the game, though Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and possibly the Nintendo Switch are pretty safe bets.

Unfortunately we’re yet to see actual gameplay, though that hasn’t stopped the game’s developer from sharing the occasional tease, like a recent tweet that has fans desperate for the game's debut.

One fan said the game isn’t “a want, it’s a need,” with another calling the game their “precious” and wanting to know “which of my kidneys do I need to sell for it?”

Another player said, “This game can't come out fast enough. I am WAITING so impatiently right now.”

It seems fans will have to wait quite a bit longer though, as no release date, or even release window has been shared at the time of writing.

That being said if the developer is throwing out more teases perhaps we can expect an official gameplay reveal soon.
