Steam's latest open-world RPG is The Elder Scrolls on all the drugs

The strangest RPG you may ever play

If you have wondered what it would be like to experience The Elder Scrolls whilst on drugs, then wonder no more as this fellow open-world RPG has you covered.

Dread Delusion is a 2022 open-world RPG “brimming with strange places and dark perils”. Developed by Lovely Hellplace, players will carve their own path through the flying continents of a shattered land all whilst discovering strange towns, occult secrets and mastering powerful magic.

Check out The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind trailer below!

Currently available in early access, Dread Delusion is everything The Elder Scrolls series would be if a lot of drugs were involved. Set in a broken world, humanity has to fight to survive against an undead curse as well as learn to deal with the strange people and places.

Whether you traipse across a mushroom field or enter an ominous mausoleum, danger awaits at every turn but with the path your own to carve, how you approach each situation is up to you.

Dread Delusion also features an interactive narrative where each choice is up to you. This could mean helping out the locals, trading goods or even just relying on your words rather than your weapons.

Inspired by classic RPGs of the 2000s, this RPG features a world-spanning quest that will decide the fate of the land all designed using a beautiful retro 2D aesthetic.

With smithing and alchemy to master, locks to pick, NPCs to charm, magic to master and a narrative to build, Dread Delusion is reminiscent of titles such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and there will also be the odd dragon or two.

Sitting at a “very positive rating” on Steam, one user said: The worst part of this game is that there isn't more of it. Can't wait for the main story update and would love for a few more extra side quests.

I can't find any more quests and can't progress any further on the main story with around 12.5h played with my character maxed out. Such a fun and bizarre world to explore.”
