Starfield, Halo Collide In This Glorious New Fan Creation

Good to see you Master Chief...things aren't going well

Halo players are scavenging for scraps at this point but here comes Starfield with something for them to consume

Bethesda’s open-world space exploration game fell short in many areas but the one aspect it thrived in was the customisable starships.

You could go as basic or as complex as you’d like so as you can imagine the first few weeks of the game’s life yielded an endless amount of fan creations, both original and based on existing IPs.

We’ve seen Star Wars, Star Trek, Mass Effect and more, and when No Man’s Sky added its own customisable vessels the cycle continued.

Halo fans will get a kick out of this creation though, as one Starfield player went through the pain-staking process of recreating the iconic freighter seen in Halo: Combat Evolved, the Pillar Of Autumn.

It’s the ship Master Chief catches a ride on at the start of the game and the one he eventually returns to in order to destroy the Halo ring and escape the blast. It also returns in Halo: Reach’s final mission as the remnants of Noble Team defend it from Covenant forces, sacrificing themselves in the process.

Truly an iconic part of Halo’s history and now it can be flown in Starfield, and it looks nearly identical too, remarkably.

You can pilot it for yourself via a free mod for the game found on NexusMods, and any fans of Halo are urged to do so. There are a few caveats though so be sure to check the mod’s description, as there are some issues with the mod that could see you lose the ship if you do something wrong.

Pretty soon we could see the Pillar Of Autumn return for a third time, albeit in a slightly different way.

Rumour has it that Halo Studios is throwing away the story its created up to now and going back to basics with a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, as teased with some Unreal Engine 5 images shared a while ago.

Given that it’s a remake we can probably expect some story changes to occur, but I’d imagine the Pillar of Autumn will make a return all the same, though perhaps with a different design and maybe a new captain, who knows.

For now though Halo fans can make their own fun in Starfield with cool mods such as this.
