Starfield fans are 'livid' at Xbox boss Phil Spencer, and we can see why

We're livid too! (We love you really, Phil).

The release of Starfield is nearly upon us and fans are itching to play Bethesda’s highly anticipated sci-RPG.

After being 20 years in the making (according to Bethesda), the vision of Starfield is now coming to fruition all thanks to modern-gaming technology. Boasting the largest city that Bethesda has ever created and over 1000 planets for players to explore, not to mention the freedom of expression that is commonly associated with RPGs from the developer, expectations of Starfield are already sky-high.

In fact, excitement for Starfield is so high, that fans are already planning the perfect sick day excuse so that they can play the game on launch. Yet, that’s not a problem for retired senior citizens who can’t wait to play Starfield all day.

However, some fans are livid, albeit likely tongue-in-cheek, that it seems Xbox chief Phil Spencer is already playing Starfield, less than two months until its big release. Though to be fair, he is the Xbox head honcho of course. So if anyone is to play Xbox exclusives way before anyone else, it would be Mr Spencer.

“LET US PLAY IT TOO PHIL,” pleaded Reddit user No-Discipline-2354, after noticing on the Xbox app that Mr Spencer is already partaking in his intergalactic adventures.

“The games are injected directly into his brain,” claimed a 100% reliable hornwalker. “Damn, I should pay 6 billion too for early access,” replied massav, jokingly referring to Microsoft’s $7.5 billion takeover of Bethesda's parent company, ZeniMax Media.

If you’re interested to see what Phil Spencer is up to on Xbox, you can stalk ... .sorry, follow him on his Xbox account, ‘P3’. Just don’t expect him to follow you back unless you buy him an evening meal at a snazzy restaurant.

Starfield will be released on 6 September 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. Unless you pre-order the Premium or Constellation Edition, in which case it will be 1 September. Starfield will also launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
