Stardew Valley fans discover game-changing trick: 'I've wasted so much time'

I wish I'd known this sooner

Stardew Valley arguably remains the king of cosy and if you’ve played the game, it’s not hard to see why.

There’s something so intoxicatingly moreish about its formula.

That being said, Stardew Valley isn’t without its pitfalls, or so I thought.

You see, certain actions can feel a tad grindy - and that’s not unique to Stardew Valley. It’s a problem we see across the cosy life sim genre.

Clearly though, plenty of us have been grinding for no reason.

Have you ever procrastinated transferring a chest? Sighed in dismay when you finally realised it was time to get the job done?

I’ve certainly been there, but I clearly needn’t have felt that way.

Reddit user musingsofapathy has just pointed out that developer ConcernedApe is one step ahead of us and now, well, I just feel a bit silly.

If you enjoy Stardew Valley, I have a feeling you’ll like Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

“There I am, with a Big Shed full of simple wooden chests, but I am running out of room for staple items. Solution: build big chests,” musingsofapathy began.

“But all of that time to transfer items, needing a third chest to hold the items while transferring Luckily, Concerned Ape is a genius and made things convenient. Want to change chests? Just use the new chest on top of the old chest and it will not only transfer all of the items from old to new, but also the name and colour.”

I’ll be damned. This I did not know, but I’m not alone.

“I didn't know you could just throw the big chest on top of the other chest and it transferred the items. I've wasted SO MUCH time. Thank you for this information, it'll definitely save me time going forward,” replied Lilnephilim.

“I wish I had known this literally 10 minutes ago,” added cecilator.

“TIL! I've been putting off transferring to bigger chests because it's so annoying doing it manually. Thanks for the tip,” said laterallysocute.

At least we all feel silly together.
