Star Wars: The Acolyte wasn’t perfect but it didn’t deserve all of the hate it got, and it definitely didn’t deserve to get cancelled before its second season.

Some of the plot points being set up for Season 2 were really interesting and we were so close to seeing Darth Plagueis done in live-action, only getting that small tease in the series finale.

Alas it just wasn’t meant to be, and it’s doubtful we’ll ever see any of those characters again unless another series or film goes back to the High Republic era.

However for those that really want to see some of these stories continued there is hope, as there are a few books to read that star some of The Acolyte’s main cast.

The one we’re talking about today is Star Wars: The Crystal Crown, which some fans are hailing as a “win for both Star Wars books and fans of The Acolyte.”

Reader and Reddit user solo13508 did a brief review of the book in a post and had a lot of positive things to say about it, saying it’s “arguably the best tie-in media we've gotten for The Acolyte thus far.”

It stars both Yord and Jecki and is set before the events of the TV series. It explores their identities and adds a breadth of character development that makes their performance in The Acolyte hit that much harder.

Honestly it sounds like a good read, and while I’ve never been one for Star Wars books I’m sure fans will get a kick out of this one, especially if they want more Acolyte content.

Unfortunately no amount of books are going to bring back the TV series, even with an outcry of support for the show Disney is still steadfast in its decision to keep it buried for the foreseeable future.
