The official continuation to Star Wars: The Acolyte is finally out, and even the fans of the show don’t seem too happy with it.
If you can believe it, it’s been well over a year since the Star Wars series The Acolyte was unceremoniously cancelled by Disney.
It’s pretty fair to say that the show was divisive during its time, but it earned itself a lot of hardcore fans.
That’s why a lot of people have been pretty excited for The Acolyte: The Crystal Crown, a young-adult novel written by Tessa Gratton featuring the exploits of Padawan Yord and Padawan Jecki.

Well, the day has finally come, because The Acolyte: The Crystal Crown officially released last night… although some fans of the series don’t seem too keen on the continuation.
Over on the r/StarWarsLeaks subreddit, several Star Wars fans reacted to the first look at the new novel with confusion.
“Such a shame LF decided to just nuke everything instead of making adjustments to a second season”, commented user BShep_OLDBSN.
“I still do not understand what the deal with this show is. Like Disney themselves practically cancelled it by removing all advertising and merchandising, and even confirming no sequel seasons, but kept the show on their streaming platform”, replied user SirDerageTheSecond.

“Then proceed to release new stories based on the show and brought back some items in their stores… Where are they going with this? The show wasn't anything mindblowing but I liked it, and it dropped way too many hints at stuff that feel like it left us hanging big time.”
And, yeah, I understand the sentiment.
A prequel featuring two characters from the show who died halfway through the first season is hardly the continuation that a lot of people wanted.
C’mon, Disney. Put The Stranger back on our screens so we can all see Manny Jacinto again.
