Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith video game needs a remake, fans agree

Star Wars fans are clamouring for a full modern remake of 2005's Revenge Of The Sith video game adaptation.

So many Star Wars video games have released over the years - it’s genuinely quite hard to keep up with them all.

Obviously, we all know and love the Knights of the Old Republic and Battlefront series, and more recently, Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor have been the titles that everyone's been talking about. However, a game that doesn’t tend to be discussed quite so often is the game adaptation of Revenge of the Sith, which was released on the PS2 and original Xbox (as well as Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance and the old mobile operating system Symbian) in 2005.

Take a look at our review for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor below.

Obviously, the action game has become very dated in the 18 years since its release, and fans believe that it’s deserving of a modern-day remake. Over on Change.org, a petition has been launched to try to get Lucasfilm Games and Ubisoft to make it happen.

“I would absolutely love to see Disney and Ubisoft remaster Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith video game. The game was an excellent game when it was first released and it really needs an overhaul,” petition organiser Elisha Egleston wrote.

Since it was launched, the petition has gained almost 450 signatures, and fans have been flooding the ‘reasons for signing’ section with nostalgic memories and pleas for the devs to revisit the underrated title.

“Absolutely loved this game growing up. I spent countless hours going through all the levels and having lightsaber duels with my dad and my brother. I would love the opportunity to do that again,” Holden Prieur wrote. “This game was my childhood, countless hours playing this game,” Kyra Wood commented. “Easily my favourite game as a child, and it was overshadowed by both Battlefront and Republic Commando. Even if you didn’t like the movie, the game had an amazing combat system and the best multiplayer duelling ever in a Star Wars game. Definitely needs a full HD remake,” added Marshall Rich.

Whether the developers will actually pay attention to the wishes of fans remains to be seen - there’s already plenty of other Star Wars games in the works, including a remake of Knights of the Old Republic (even if it sounds like that’s having a pretty rough time behind the scenes). We’ll just have to watch this space.
