LucasFilm have finally given us our first proper look at their upcoming General Grievous prequel, and I guess there’s a good reason we’ve never heard of any of the Jedi that he’s set to duel in the story.
In case you missed it, this weekend was San Diego Comic-Con. Naturally, LucasFilm and Disney were out in full force during the convention, which is why we already have a bunch of new Star Wars info to dissect.
First up, there was a bunch of exclusive merch at the event, including a Darth Vader Tamagotchi (still yet to be confirmed whether or not it had a youngling killing mini-game).
They also showed off some new images from the upcoming Maul: Shadow Lord animated series and a first look at season 2 of Ahsoka (as featured on the official Star Wars website).

However, the focus this year seemed to be on the sheer volume of new Star Wars comics in the works, including series such as Tales from the Nightlands, Young Jedi Adventures, Legacy of Vader, and Hyperspace Stories: General Grievous.
As detailed by Star Wars News Net’s Nate Manning, Lucasfilm Publishing revealed some exclusive artwork from each series, but the Hyperspace Stories: General Grievous graphic novel is the one that’s got folks most excited (probably due to the fact that we knew so little about it beforehand).
As the exclusive look revealed, Grievous is on a mission from Count Dooku to take over the planet of Katou, which seems like it should be an easy, straightforward task for someone of his strength... until Jedi Cardiff Baye and a legion of clone troopers show up.
So, who’s Jedi Cardiff Baye?

Let’s just say there’s probably a good reason as to why this guy doesn’t have a Wookiepedia page (spoiler alert: he’s definitely going to die).
Well if the o,bvious death aside hasn’t ruined it for you, you can read Hyperspace Stories: General Grievous for yourself when it drops on January 13 next year.
