A new free mod has overhauled Fallout 4 in order to let fans live out their Star Wars dreams, bringing spaceship combat to the wasteland.

It’s an odd crossover, we’ll give you that. Nobody expects Star Wars to appear in the Bethesda RPG, so a modder took this as a challenge.

Imperial Attack on the Commonwealth will transform your next Fallout 4 playthrough, by bringing various spaceships to the wasteland.

The original mod was released back in 2022, but it has been updated to work with the game’s latest next-gen patch, which allowed the game to perform better on newer hardware.

The original mod was made by a different creator, and the sole purpose was to give the world of Fallout 4 and Star Wars flair.

With this in mind, players have been enjoying the bizarre crossover for some time.

The mod overhauls certain aspects of the game, changing the raider bosses for scout troopers, for example, or changing up the vertibird so it can go toe-to-toe with tie-fighters.

It seems to be a big success for those who have played, though a few players note that there’s not a great deal to do once the mod is installed.

Star Wars is a universe millions of players would want to play around in, and it’s a constant source of inspiration for modders.

The flexibility of Fallout modding allows for community creators to bring in strange pairings and to live out fantasies for countless players.

Long-time fans of the Disney franchise can find an explorable hangar for the star destroyers, as well as Darth Vader’s castle near the coastline.

If you’re looking to immerse yourself in the world of Star Wars, this is certainly one way to do it.

Perhaps your next playthrough will be infiltrated by the Empire and the darker side of The Force.
