Star Wars’ galaxy far, far away perfectly lends itself to a game like Fallout: New Vegas, and this free PC download is going to prove it.
Despite their popularity, Star Wars games have very rarely ventured into an open-world format.
The closest we’ve gotten to a true open-world experience is Star Wars Outlaws and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, but even those have their fair share of loading screens.
More open-world games are bound to follow but the one we’re most excited for is a free PC RPG that’s a must-play for fans of Fallout: New Vegas.
Fallout: New Vegas is the greatest Fallout game ever made, but don’t hold your breath for a sequel or even a remake as it sounds like Bethesda has no interest.

That said, in a game as legendary as Fallout: New Vegas, it’s no surprise that one of the most impressive Star Wars games we’ve ever seen is being built within it.
'Star Wars Open Worlds' is an in-progress overhaul mod that’ll see players become their own character in the Star Wars galaxy, with 12 planets to explore.
Keeping with the traditional Fallout formula, there’ll be several paths to choose from when carving your story.
You can either follow the way of the Jedi and stick to the light, or take a walk down the dark side and become a Sith instead.
However, if one is to understand the great mystery one must study all its aspects, so if you’d rather tread a fine line between good and evil you be a morally grey force wielder too.
It’s said the mod will be fully-voiced and include plenty of side content to keep you busy, all of which can be enjoyed alongside all the new weapons and armour it adds as well.

You can even be a bounty hunter if you’d like, something we’ve all wanted to be ever since watching The Mandalorian for the first time.
For a full list of features, you can check out Star Wars Open Worlds mod page online.
The release date for Star Wars Open World hasn’t been shared at the time of writing and worryingly, the mod’s developers have been very quiet on its progress.
That said, it hasn’t been officially cancelled and projects like this do take a lot of time, so hopefully it gets a full release in the next couple of years.
While you wait though, we simply must encourage you to check out Star Wars Genesis, another open-world Star Wars mod that you can actually play now with a copy of Starfield .
Starfield was a massive let down for many Bethesda fans and while some of the new content added via its DLCs has been solid, it’s still a far cry from what was initially expected.
Star Wars Genesis is excellent though and one of the main reasons so many gamers are still playing Starfield.
