Anakin and Obi-Wan are back, and they’re duelling again– just not necessarily in the format you’d expect.
San Diego Comic-Con is back this July, and there’s a bunch of Star Wars goodies coming along with it.
As noted in an article by Star Wars News Net’s Josh Atkins, while LucasFilm may not have a panel this year (nor, assumedly, will Disney be holding one for them), they will have exclusive merch up for grabs. Lots and lots of merch.
Now, the star of the show, and assumedly the reason you clicked on this article in the first place, is the “Black Series” figurine set, featuring Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s duel at the end of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.

And yeah, sure, that’s cool and all, but I’d like to draw your attention to something much, much cooler: the limited-edition Darth Vader Tamagotchi.
I’ll be real with you, I’ve never been much of a merch kind of guy, but that Tamagotchi– I need it. Do you still have to feed little angry Anakin his snacks, or he’ll die? Do you still have to clean up his poop? I gotta know, man.
Beast Kingdom action figures, a Darth Vader replica helmet (specifically the one from The Empire Strikes Back), a special limited-edition metal The Mandalorian and Grogu poster, and even a Darth Vader MiniCo figurine.
But, c’mon– you KNOW the Darth Vader Tamagotchi is the real prize here. There’s just so much about it I have to find out. If you forget to feed Anakin and he dies, will the midichlorians impregnate someone else so you can have a new one? Much to think about.

Anyway, better hope you live near San Diego and you’re willing to travel there on 27 July, otherwise you’ll presumably miss out on your only chance to actually bag any of this merch for yourself.
If any of you do go and you get the Darth Vader Tamagotchi, please email me the answers to all of my questions. I simply must know if there is a youngling-killing mini game.
